Our mantra at Christian Ladd Interiors is “the devil is in the details”. There is no better way to elevate the design of a room than by incorporating custom touches.

There are many ways to incorporate customization but a few of our favorites include custom draperies, custom ceiling treatments, and passementerie. Passementerie is defined as “the art of making elaborate trimmings or edgings.” This can include embroidery, silk cords, welts, tassels and so much more.  Adding passementerie to your furnishings is a simple way to take a standard piece to the next level. We love how much of a difference adding in even a small customized detail can change the look of something, and this thought can be said for all areas of design. Examples of this type of customization include incorporating a contrasting welt to a chair or taking a standard chair or chairs and adding custom cushions or skirts. If you love the look of an item from a favorite retailer almost anything can be made custom by thinking outside the box and adding in custom details.

When it comes to design details there is nothing too big or too small, adding a finishing touch to a particular piece or room will never go unnoticed.
